India Becomes "FOURTH" Largest Economy, a Result of 11 Years of Modi Govt’s Vision: Jitendra Singh

Jammu, May 25: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday credited India’s rise to the position of the world’s fourth-largest economy to the transformative governance and development seen over the last 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said this milestone is a clear reflection of the Modi government's consistent efforts and its vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Singh emphasised that India's economic growth trajectory is not just a statistical achievement but a testament to long-term reforms, infrastructure expansion, policy stability, and a governance model that prioritises both innovation and inclusion. “This progress is the outcome of sustained planning, execution, and a commitment to national development under PM Modi’s leadership since 2014,” he noted.

The minister also highlighted India’s strengthened defence capabilities, stating that the country’s military preparedness has seen significant advancements in the last decade. Referring to the recent successful military operation against Pakistan, Singh said it was a fitting response that has silenced government critics and reaffirmed India’s self-reliance in defence.

Echoing this sentiment, NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam stated that India has now overtaken Japan to become the fourth largest economy in the world. He noted that the current geopolitical and economic climate globally is favourable for India, positioning it as a key player in shaping the global economic order in the coming decades.

The remarks come at a time when the NDA government is marking the completion of the first year of its third consecutive term, with development, security, and self-reliance at the forefront of its agenda.
