AAP Youth Wing (AYW) demands Corona screening & random community testing in all the slums of Pimpri-Chinchwad city
In the last 4 days the Corona positive cases has been on a steep rise in the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad with the figure touching 430+. Most of the cases are coming from the slum areas. Anandnagar slums have been the worst hit with more than 138 Corona positive cases found in just a week. There are around 19 Corona positive cases in Bhatnagar slums & 40 cases in Rupeenagar slums. Around 200+ cases are from various slum, low lying & congested areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad city. This is of concern as these places have high population density as the houses are very close to each other and have common toilets.This increases the risk of the spread of the virus quickly. AAP Youth Wing (AYW) demands from the PCMC Commissioner to start screening & conducting random community testing in all slum areas of Pimpri-Chinchwad city so as to contain the spread of the virus. It has been observed that people living in the slum areas have been hanging around in groups in their areas. These people should be sensitized about social distancing and following hygiene precautions.With early detection of the cases we will reduce the spread. All suspected cases showing symptoms should be quarantined immediately. Also, request to sanitize all the slums, low lying & congested areas,crowded localities & market places regularly.
