GEORGETOWN May 26: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Guyana's Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and Prime Minister Mark Phillips have expressed steadfast support for India’s fight against terrorism, reaffirming their commitment to global peace and security.
The expression of solidarity came during a high-level meeting with an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is currently on a diplomatic visit to the South American nation. The delegation arrived in Georgetown on Sunday morning and began official engagements shortly thereafter.
During the interaction, the Indian delegation elaborated on India's uncompromising stance on terrorism, particularly emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy. Discussions also touched upon India’s positions regarding sensitive and strategic matters such as the situation in Pahalgam, the recent #OperationSindoor, and developments related to the Indus Water Treaty.
