In a significant step towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the Northeast, RJ Corp Healthcare laid the foundation stone for Cocoon Hospital, Guwahati — an advanced Mother and Child Care Hospital that promises to bring world-class, affordable healthcare services to Assam and the region.
The Bhumi Pujan ceremony was performed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, marking the beginning of a landmark project under RJ Corp Healthcare. The upcoming facility will be a 50-bedded NABH-accredited hospital, specializing in maternity, gynaecology, IVF, paediatrics, and neonatal care.
Spread across a sprawling campus, Cocoon Hospital is designed as a modern, patient-friendly institution combining advanced clinical infrastructure, expert medical professionals, and compassionate care. Once operational within the next two years, it will serve as a regional referral centre for the entire Northeast, offering comprehensive services for women and children under one roof.
Speaking at the foundation ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded RJ Corp’s investment in Assam’s healthcare landscape and emphasized the need for such high-quality healthcare projects in the region. He said the initiative would play a vital role in improving maternal and child health outcomes while boosting local employment and healthcare innovation.
Beyond clinical excellence, RJ Corp’s healthcare initiative aims to make a social and economic impact in Assam by generating over 700 direct and indirect employment opportunities, engaging local vendors in procurement and logistics, and conducting community-oriented health programs such as vaccination drives, preventive health camps, and wellness initiatives.
